Rewa football players have been urged to reflect on their performance and engage in some soul-searching ahead of the 2024 Rooster Chicken/Scoops Ice Cream Battle of the Giants.
Following their narrow 1-0 victory over Tailevu Naitasiri in round 12 of the Digicel Fiji Premier League on Sunday, the team’s coach and management spent over half an hour discussing performance-related issues with the players.
Head coach Rodeck Singh expressed after the match that the team’s performance fell short of expectations.
“Firstly, it was about finishing, and then it boiled down to individual performance. Some tasks that can be easily performed are not being carried out by those who are expected to do more,” said Singh.
The players were also reminded of the goals they have set, which extend beyond local tournaments and the national league.
In 2023, Rewa failed to reach the semi-final stages of the BOG tournament.
