Rewa FC, the points leaders in the Digicel Premier League, faced disappointment in round 14 as they played to a goalless draw against Navua at Ratu Cakobau Park in Nausori on Sunday. Both teams put forth solid defensive displays, resulting in a scoreless first half.

In the second half, Rewa FC had several opportunities to score but could not penetrate Navua’s sturdy defense, ultimately leading to the match ending without any goals. Head coach Rodeck Singh expressed his frustration over the missed opportunity to gain three crucial points in the title race.

Singh stressed the importance of seizing chances in critical matches, saying, “It was disappointing since it was really a good game and we didn’t get any points on the board. We were gunning for three points but just failed to score. The boys need to step up in these big games; if we want to win the league, we must start picking up points.”

Acknowledging the team’s difficulties in converting their scoring chances, Singh urged his players to learn from their mistakes and come back stronger in their next outing. “It is becoming frustrating the way we miss our opportunities. Nobody to blame; we just need to work on our mistakes,” he added.

He also praised the players for handling the pressure of playing at home, while thanking the fans for their unwavering support. “Playing at home comes with crowd pressure, but I think the boys managed it well; it was just the scoring part that let us down. We must realize that the league title is at stake, and to win it, we need to score.”

Despite the setback, Singh remains optimistic about his team’s ability to regroup and perform better in future matches.
