Rewa FC is set to make a bold entry into the 2024 Flour Mills of Fiji (FMF) Inter-District Championship, which starts today. Coach Rodicks Singh, who has led the team through past victories including their recent success in the Digicel Premier League, emphasized the need for his players to deliver their top performance to advance in the tournament.
Singh noted that team preparation has been effective, with several training sessions completed, but acknowledged they have not yet conducted a full practice as a unit this year. He minimized concerns about the lack of a unit run, stating that the players have been together for the entire year and there are no excuses for that oversight.
He also pointed out the significant challenges posed by rival teams in their pool, specifically highlighting the strength of Ba, the current form of Nadi, and the potential surprise factor of Nadroga in the championship.
Singh remarked, “Ba is such a football giant, and we have Nadi who have currently been on good form and Nadroga who can be a surprise in the tournament.” He stressed the high caliber of these teams and reiterated the importance of being well-prepared to progress through the pool.
The players are energized by their recent league win and are shifting their focus to achieving further success in the IDC. Their first match will be against Nadroga today at 1:30 PM.
