Rewa FC is entering the 2024 Flour Mills of Fiji (FMF) Inter-District Championship with high hopes as the tournament begins today. Team coach Rodicks Singh, who has led the team through previous successes including their recent victory in the Digicel Premier League (DPL), emphasized the need for the team to deliver their strongest performance to advance in the competition.
Singh noted that while the team’s training sessions have been productive, they have not executed a full team run together. He explained that this was due to the team spending the entire year together, leaving no room for excuses. He also acknowledged the formidable opponents they will face in their group.
“Ba is a significant force in football, and we have Nadi, who are in excellent form, along with Nadroga, who could be a surprise package in the tournament,” Singh stated. He recognized the high caliber of these teams and highlighted the necessity for his players to be prepared to progress through the pool stage.
The team recognizes the significance of participating in the IDC, where they will compete against Ba, Nadi, and Nadroga in Group B of the Super Premier Division. “The players are highly motivated after their league victory and are focused on this tournament with the belief that they can achieve success again,” he added.
In an exciting start to the championship, Rewa will face Nadroga in the opening match at 1.30 PM.
