Rewa FC Faces Do-or-Die Match for League Glory!

Rewa Football Club is gearing up for a pivotal match against Nadi in round 17 of the Digicel Fiji Premier League, with the league title on the line. Roderick Singh, head coach of Rewa FC, emphasized the significance of this match, noting that a victory could potentially clinch the league championship for the team.

Following a strong 2-0 win over Lautoka in round 16, Rewa now faces only two matches left in their quest for the 2024 league title. Singh expressed confidence in the team’s preparations and acknowledged the challenges of the demanding week ahead.

“The preparations are going well; we are coming off a tough week with two games remaining, so we are intensifying our training sessions, fully aware that the league is at stake,” Singh stated. He added, “If we win this match, we will undoubtedly win the league; it’s a critical game for us, and we need to give our best to keep the trophy with Rewa this year.”

Singh noted the need for ongoing improvement, particularly in game management and taking advantage of scoring opportunities. He stressed the importance of being strong in the upcoming match against Nadi.

“Special focus is being placed on improving our finishing skills and tightening our defense to mitigate the opponent’s threats,” he said. With only two matches left, Singh emphasized the urgency to secure victories in order to win the national league.

Despite dealing with two injuries within the squad, Singh assured that the team is actively evaluating conditions to determine the optimal lineup. “We have two injuries, but we are assessing the situation, and we will decide who will feature in the match against Nadi,” he explained.

Nadi is expected to be a tough contender, possessing young and talented players, and has a history of success in competitions like the Battle of the Giants. “Nadi will be a challenging team; they have talented young players and performed well in previous competitions, so this will be an exciting match,” Singh remarked.

Key players such as William Valentine and Tuibaba are seen as crucial assets for Rewa, capable of making a substantial impact in the forthcoming game.

Singh also urged Rewa’s dedicated fans to come out and support the team at Prince Charles Park in Nadi. The match is set to kick off at 3 PM on Sunday.

Additionally, round 17 will showcase other intriguing matchups, including Nadroga versus Tailevu Naitasiri at Lawaqa Park at 2 PM, Navua hosting Nasinu at 2 PM at the Uprising Sports Centre in Deuba, Ba clashing with Labasa at the Fiji FA Academy in Ba at 3 PM, and Lautoka taking on Suva at Churchill Park.
