Rewa FC is set to embark on its journey to Honiara, Solomon Islands, to compete in the upcoming OFC Men’s Champions League this weekend. Under the leadership of Coach Rodeck Singh, the team is focused on improving their performance following a narrow semifinal defeat to AS Pirae last year, where they lost 4-2.
Although they faced a setback with the disapproval of three player registrations—namely defender Samuela Kautoga, winger James Hoyt, and newly signed goalkeeper James Do’oro—Singh remains hopeful. He believes this challenge offers an opportunity for other players to step up and showcase their talents on a significant platform. “Yes, it is a setback. We have lost some key players, but this is also an opportunity for other players in the squad to take responsibility and do their best in Honiara,” Singh remarked.
Adding to their strength, six players who recently represented Fiji’s national team have returned to the Rewa squad, bringing valuable experience and skills at a critical juncture. The Delta Tigers are scheduled to kick off their campaign against AS Tiga Sport on Sunday at 1 PM.
As they prepare for fierce competition in the OFC Champions League, Rewa FC aims not only to build on their existing experience but also to create a lasting legacy for Fijian football. This tournament offers them a chance to inspire future generations and further establish their prominence within Oceania football.
With determination and strong support from their fans, Rewa FC is ready to tackle the challenges ahead with resilience and ambition. This season holds the promise of thrilling moments for the Delta Tigers as they strive for success on the international stage.
