Rewa FC is currently working to secure the participation of three key players ahead of their first match in the 2025 OFC Men’s Champions League. The squad is attempting to finalize the registrations for defender Samuela Kautoga, winger James Hoyt, and goalkeeper James Do’oro. The Fiji Football Association has faced challenges with the Oceania Football Confederation (OFC) deeming their registration submissions as late due to differing time zones, leading to complications in securing the necessary clearances.
Coach Rodeck Singh remains optimistic and is preparing the rest of the squad to step up in the event the three players are unavailable. “It’s crucial for us to get a winning start, as it will set the momentum for our campaign,” Singh remarked. The players are motivated and aware of the expectations from fans and officials, further fueling their aspirations.
Rewa FC is set to compete in a challenging Group A, facing notable opponents such as Auckland City, AS Pirae, and AS Tiger Sport. Last year, Rewa had an inspiring performance in the league but fell short in the semifinals against AS Pirae, losing 4-2. This season, they aim not only to build on their prior experiences but to inspire their fans and represent Fijian football on a broader stage.
The team’s opening match is scheduled for Sunday at 1 PM at Lawson Tama Stadium in Honiara, Solomon Islands. With their spirits high and a promising outlook, Rewa FC is determined to make this tournament a successful campaign, showcasing their talent and resilience.
Fans are eagerly anticipating the thrilling matches ahead, hopeful for a strong showing from the Delta Tigers. This could be a defining moment for Rewa FC, as they strive to turn past experiences into victories and further establish their presence in Oceania football.
