The Extra Supermarket Rewa football team faces a challenging journey in the upcoming 2025 OFC Men’s Championship League. Representing Fiji, Rewa has been placed in Group A, which features strong clubs from New Zealand, Tahiti, and New Caledonia.

Meanwhile, Group B includes teams from Vanuatu, Papua New Guinea, the Solomon Islands, and the winner of a qualifying tournament set to occur from February 8-14 in the Cook Islands. This tournament will see three teams competing: Royal Puma FC from American Samoa, Vaipuna SC from Samoa, and Tupapa Maraerenga FC from the Cook Islands. The victor will earn the final spot in Group B.

The OFC Men’s Championship League, Oceania’s premier club competition, will take place in Honiara, Solomon Islands, from March 30 to April 12. This league brings together the champions of clubs from around the region, marking a significant event for the participating teams.

Historically, the OFC Champions League was supposed to take place in Fiji, but no Fijian team has yet claimed the title despite strong performances from clubs like Ba, Suva, Nadi, and Lautoka, which have all reached the finals.

As the tournament approaches, there is much anticipation for Rewa’s performance against formidable opponents. This opportunity could spotlight Fijian football on an international stage and stimulate local support for the team. With resilience and team spirit, Rewa may be able to carve a path toward success in this prestigious competition.
