Rewa secured its place in the semifinals of the 2024 FMF Inter District Championship (IDC) following a decisive 3-0 victory over Nadi in their second Group B match at Churchill Park in Lautoka.
After an impressive 7-0 win against Nadroga the previous day, the team, coached by Roderick Singh, showcased their dominance right from the start. Solomon Islander John Orobulu opened the scoring in the 26th minute, increasing his tournament tally to six goals.
Rewa went into halftime with a 1-0 lead, and left-back Ivan Kumar delivered a standout performance by scoring an incredible goal in the 61st minute, delivering a powerful shot that left Nadi’s goalkeeper, Joela Biuvanua, with no chance.
The final goal came from substitute striker Asivorosi Rabo, who finished neatly in the 77th minute to confirm Rewa’s victory.
Supported by Extra Supermarket, Rewa still has one game to play, facing defending champions RC Manubhai Ba in their final group match scheduled for 6 pm tomorrow. Meanwhile, Mahijibhai Hardware/Calgary Nadi is set to compete against Sigatoka Electric/Nadroga Auto Marine Upholstery Nadroga at 2 pm.
