Rewa has secured its place in the semifinals of the 2024 FMF Inter District Championship (IDC) after dominating Nadi with a 3-0 victory in their second Group B match held at Churchill Park in Lautoka.
After a commanding 7-0 win over Nadroga the previous day, the team, coached by Roderick Singh, started strong from the outset. Solomon Islander John Orobulu opened the scoring in the 26th minute, marking his sixth goal in the tournament.
Rewa led 1-0 at halftime, and left-back Ivan Kumar enhanced their lead in the 61st minute with a stunning goal that left goalkeeper Joela Biuvanua with no chance to save.
Substitute striker Asivorosi Rabo put the match beyond doubt with a well-executed finish in the 77th minute.
With sponsorship from Extra Supermarket, Rewa still has one final group match remaining, against defending champions RC Manubhai Ba, scheduled for 6 PM tomorrow. Meanwhile, Mahijibhai Hardware/Calgary Nadi will face Sigatoka Electric/Nadroga Auto Marine Upholstery Nadroga at 2 PM.
