Rewa has secured its place in the semifinals of the 2024 FMF Inter District Championship (IDC) by defeating Nadi 3-0 in their second Group B match at Churchill Park in Lautoka. Following a dominant 7-0 victory over Nadroga the previous day, Rewa, coached by Roderick Singh, started strong. Solomon Islander John Orobulu opened the scoring in the 26th minute, bringing his total to six goals in the tournament.
Rewa went into halftime with a 1-0 lead, and hard-working left-back Ivan Kumar doubled the advantage in the 61st minute with an impressive strike that left goalkeeper Joela Biuvanua unable to react. The victory was capped off by substitute striker Asivorosi Rabo, who scored in the 77th minute with a well-placed finish.
Rewa, sponsored by Extra Supermarket, still has one game left and will face defending champions RC Manubhai Ba in their final group match at 6pm tomorrow. Meanwhile, Mahijibhai Hardware/Calgary Nadi will play against Sigatoka Electric/Nadroga Auto Marine Upholstery Nadroga at 2pm.
