Rewa, the National League champions and OFC Champions League semifinalists, celebrated a triumphant evening at the 2024 Extra Supermarket sponsored Fiji FA Awards Night in Nadi, where they took home five prestigious awards.
Midfielder Ratu Tevita Waranaivalu was honored as the 2024 Male Footballer of the Year, while Adi Litia Bakaniceva received the accolade for the 2024 Female Footballer of the Year. In addition, Rewa’s President, Nazeel Buksh, was recognized as Administrator of the Year, and the Delta Tigers were named Team of the Year, further solidifying Rewa’s outstanding performance throughout the season.
Additionally, Adi Vikatoria Veronika was awarded Female Futsal Player of the Year. Other notable winners included Dr. Diva Singh, who was named Coach of the Year for Tavua, and Lautoka’s Aporosa Yada, who earned the Goal of the Year title. Other awards went to Labasa’s Mohammed Kaseem (Volunteer of the Year), Torika Delai (Referee of the Year), and Lami’s Ravneel Pal (Male Futsal Player of the Year).
The event highlighted the talents and dedication of various individuals within the Fijian football community, showcasing the bright future of the sport in the region. The recognition of young talents like Sterling Vasconcellos and Elesi Tabunase as Young Footballers of the Year emphasizes the promising pipeline of athletes emerging in Fiji’s football scene.
