Rewa has secured its place in the semifinals of the 2024 FMF Inter District Championship (IDC) after a commanding 3-0 victory over Nadi in their second Group B match held at Churchill Park in Lautoka.
Following a dominant 7-0 win against Nadroga the previous day, the team, coached by Roderick Singh, started strong and saw Solomon Islander John Orobulu score the opening goal in the 26th minute, bringing his tournament total to six goals.
Rewa entered halftime with a 1-0 lead, and left-back Ivan Kumar delivered the standout moment of the match in the 61st minute with a powerful strike that left goalkeeper Joela Biuvanua unable to respond.
Asivorosi Rabo, who came on as a substitute, confirmed Rewa’s victory with a well-placed finish in the 77th minute.
Backed by Extra Supermarket, Rewa still has one match remaining and will face the defending champions, RC Manubhai Ba, in their final group game scheduled for 6 PM tomorrow. Meanwhile, Mahijibhai Hardware/Calgary Nadi will compete against Sigatoka Electric/Nadroga Auto Marine Upholstery Nadroga at 2 PM.
