Rewa head coach Priyant Manu has emphasized the need for improvement despite his team’s 1–0 victory over Labasa in the first leg of the Pillay Garments Champion vs Champion clash this past weekend. Manu acknowledged that while his team was able to secure a win, missed opportunities could have jeopardized their chances. He pointed out that Rewa created several scoring chances but failed to convert these into goals.

The wet and rainy conditions played a role in these missed opportunities, but Manu firmly stated that there are no excuses for the team’s inability to finish their chances effectively. Looking ahead to the decisive second leg against Labasa this Saturday, he anticipates a much more challenging encounter, as the Babasiga Lions will undoubtedly be eager to respond after their defeat.

Manu expressed confidence in his players’ capabilities, especially with the match taking place at Labasa’s home ground, Subrail Park. “We usually train in these types of conditions, so it’s no excuse as to why we couldn’t score more goals. We know Labasa will be looking to make a comeback, so we are expecting a tougher match this weekend,” he remarked.

Additionally, Manu extended his gratitude to Rewa’s supporters for their strong turnout in the first leg and expressed hope that they will once again show their unwavering support in the upcoming match. The anticipation surrounding the rematch adds an exciting element to the competition, promising an intense battle as both teams vie for the championship title.
