Rewa Claims Digicel Fiji Premier League Glory!

The Extra Supermarket Rewa football team has clinched the Digicel Fiji Premier League title. This achievement came after the Delta Tigers defeated Nadi with a score of 4-1 at Prince Charles Park yesterday. Rewa’s main competition for the top position in the DFPL standings was Labasa, who fell short with a 2-1 loss against Ba.

Rewa head coach Roderick Singh expressed pride in his players, stating they fully deserve this victory. “First and foremost, we thank God Almighty for providing us with the strength to achieve this,” the coach said. “Last year, Lautoka claimed the title; now we are the new champions of the league. The boys worked hard for this win.”

He emphasized the fight and determination of his team throughout the season, acknowledging both struggles and triumphs along the way. “From the start of the year, we knew we had to fight to win the league. I appreciate the boys for their fighting spirit throughout the season. There were ups and downs, but we ultimately secured the title.”

Coach Singh noted the consistency of the players as a key factor in their success. “We had one decisive game to determine the league winner, and we have accomplished that. The league title has returned to Rewa,” he added.

Match results included Ba’s 2-1 win over Labasa, Lautoka’s 0-1 loss to Suva, Nadroga’s 4-1 victory against Tailevu/Naitasiri, Navua’s 1-0 win over Nasinu, and Nadi’s defeat to Rewa by a score of 1-4.
