The Rewa football team displayed an impressive performance in the Extra Premier League, securing a commanding 5-1 victory over Nadi at Ratu Cakobau Park in Nausori. This significant win reinforces Rewa’s competitive edge as they aim to climb the league standings.

From the outset, Rewa asserted their dominance, with Josaia Sela opening the scoring merely three minutes into the match with a header, capitalizing on a well-placed cross from Gabrieli Matanisiga. The Delta Tigers further extended their lead with a goal from John Orobulu, and although they encountered a few missed opportunities in the first half, they went into halftime with a comfortable 2-0 lead.

Nadi struggled to find their rhythm throughout the match, managing only one goal, which was scored by their captain Rusiate Matirerega. Meanwhile, the second half saw Rewa continue their offensive prowess, with Iosefo Verevou netting two goals and Tevita Waranivalu contributing another, solidifying the team’s victory.

With this triumph, Rewa has now brought themselves within striking distance of the league leaders, Labasa, trailing by just one point, with Rewa at 19 points compared to Labasa’s 20. This spirited performance sets a hopeful tone for Rewa as they strive to overtake Labasa in the coming matches.

The Extra Premier League continues, offering Rewa the opportunity to further solidify their position as one of the league’s top contenders.
