The Extra Supermarket Rewa team, coached by Rodeck Singh, is poised for another strong performance as they face Mahijibhai Hardware/Calgary Nadi in their second pool match of the Super Premier division today at Churchill Park in Lautoka. This follows their impressive 7-0 victory against Nadroga in their opening pool match held at the same location yesterday.
Forward John Orobulu delivered an outstanding performance, scoring five goals, which highlighted his skills and influence on the game. The international player from the Solomon Islands set a high bar for the tournament with goals scored at the 21st, 25th, 62nd, 77th minutes, and one during injury time. The other goals for the Delta Tigers came from Asivorosi Rabo in the 30th minute and Epeli Valevou in the 31st minute.
Coach Rodeck Singh expressed satisfaction with his team’s strong start. “This is one of the starts we wanted. We knew IDC is one of the major tournaments, and starting well is incredibly important. I thank the boys for this beginning, and I believe we have set a solid foundation for ourselves,” he remarked.
Looking ahead, Singh indicated the importance of their game plan against Nadi. “We are taking it one game at a time. Now we will focus on how we want to approach our match against Nadi, and securing those three points is vital for us,” he stated.
Rewa is scheduled to play Nadi at 6 pm today.
