Fiji Airports has entered into a $10.4 million agreement with Australian firm RATE to procure six new aerobridges for passenger use. The company’s CEO, Mesake Nawari, noted that the investment is aimed at updating outdated infrastructure and meeting future passenger demands at Nadi International Airport. This upgrade will enhance passenger experience and improve operational efficiency.
“As part of our terminal expansion and master plan, we have signed a $10.4 million contract for six aerobridges—two of which will be new installations and four will replace the existing ones at the apron, specifically to better accommodate widebody aircraft like the A350s,” Nawari stated.
The inclusion of three new passenger aerobridges at Gates 1, 2A, and 2B will help the airport optimize the use of parking stands available on the apron.
