Pacific Specialist Healthcare (PSH) has introduced accessible payment options designed to support patients experiencing financial challenges, regardless of the complexity or cost of their treatments and surgeries.
Founder and Chief Executive Parvish Kumar emphasized that the primary focus of PSH is to save lives, placing financial aspects as a secondary concern. He highlighted that while they already provide general practitioner consultations at a low fee of $11.50 available around the clock, the hospital will also offer more affordable payment plans for more expensive treatments and procedures based on individual health needs.
Kumar pointed out that no other private hospitals in Fiji or the Pacific region have offered similar incentives. He expressed concern that many patients face life-threatening situations due to financial barriers that prevent them from accessing timely care.
Aiming for far-reaching impacts, Kumar stated, “Our ultimate goal is to make complex treatments, including open-heart surgeries, free for patients in need, not just in Fiji but throughout the Pacific Islands.” To facilitate this, PSH aims to establish a foundation with influential board members from various Pacific Island nations, thereby enhancing their service outreach to the greater Pacific community.
Looking ahead to 2025, PSH plans to form strategic partnerships with stakeholders and government agencies to elevate specialist healthcare accessibility at grassroots levels and foster a healthier, more prosperous Pacific region.
This initiative is a hopeful sign of increased attention to healthcare accessibility in underserved areas, indicating a commitment to improving health outcomes for all individuals in the Pacific Islands. By addressing financial hurdles, PSH is paving the way for patients to receive vital care without sacrifice.
