The Health and Medical Services Ministry in Fiji has introduced a significant innovation in the country’s healthcare system with the launch of the Sova Ni Bula app. The event was officiated by Dr. Luisa Cikamatana, the Chief Medical Officer, who emphasized that the app’s name, translating to “Basket of Life,” symbolizes its mission to enhance the health of Fijians.

During the launch, partners from various organizations, including Suakane Kentaro from JICA and Michael Glees from USAID, voiced their support for this initiative. The Sova Ni Bula app has been developed in collaboration with several partners such as TaiwanICDF, USAID, and JICA. Notable features of the app include offline capabilities, GIS-driven health trend analyses, and a user-friendly interface that is designed to make it accessible to a wide range of users.
