The Fijian Competition and Consumer Commission (FCCC) has praised the government’s recent decision to revamp the e-ticketing system to make it more consumer-friendly.
The new e-ticketing system aims to streamline operations and enhance the user experience for all Fijians. Importantly, it will now include additional forms of payment beyond the current bus cards.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Trade, Cooperatives, and Communications, Manoa Kamikamica, stated that this new system marks a significant milestone in improving the convenience and efficiency of public transportation in Fiji. He emphasized that the upgrade will simplify the process for commuters and ensure that the transportation infrastructure stays up-to-date with technological advancements.
FCCC CEO Joel Abraham highlighted that the introduction of various forms of payment is great news for consumers, resulting in a more reliable and user-friendly platform for their transportation needs. He added that the FCCC is highly interested in the rollout of the new e-ticketing system to ensure it meets the required standards of consumer protection and service quality.
The new e-ticketing system is expected to be operational in the coming months, with extensive testing and stakeholder consultations taking place before its full implementation.
