Revamping Rescue: $1.6 Million Worth of Heavy Machinery Joins the Fleet

This week, the Ministry of Public Works, Meteorological Services, and Transport received a handover of SHANTUI branded machines from Vision Motors. The equipment included two large excavators, two D6 bulldozers, two dumper trucks, and two flat-top trucks, all valued at over $1.62 million.

Paula Baleilevuka, the Ministry’s permanent secretary, accepted the machines on behalf of the ministry, noting that this is the first set of new machinery the ministry has received in over a decade. He emphasized that the addition of these vehicles to the ministry’s fleet would improve the capacity for maintenance work in rural and remote areas and enhance assistance during emergencies.

Ajay Lal, the principal dealer at Vision Motors, praised the ministry’s choice of Vision Motors as its dealer. He assured the government that the company would meet its needs and stand firmly behind every brand.

Lal highlighted that SHANTUI, established in 1953 in China, serves as a major technological and component partner to the renowned brand Caterpillar, offering products at a significantly lower cost. Baleilevuka indicated that the new machines will directly support ongoing and planned projects and mentioned that the ministry anticipates adding more large machines to its fleet within the financial year.
