The managing director of Yatule Resort and Spa and Tour Managers Fiji group, Damend Gounder, emphasized the crucial role that support from key stakeholders has played in creating a favorable environment for local businesses. He made these comments at the launch of the $5 million refurbished Yatule Resort and Spa in Natadola, Sigatoka, on Monday.
Gounder highlighted the success of the newly improved Yatule Resort and Spa, which exemplifies a business model that not only generates solid returns but also presents exciting growth opportunities. He stressed that such collaboration is essential for the sustainability of smaller businesses in Fiji.
Proud of their progress, Gounder stated that Tour Managers is committed to expanding their network and management capabilities.
Viliame Vodonaivalu, the chief executive officer of the Fiji National Provident Fund, noted that this project would benefit fund members while positively impacting the broader economy. He explained that Yatule Beach Resort was originally established in 2005 to provide accommodation for consultants and contractors working on the Intercontinental Fiji Golf Resort and Spa project. Following the completion of that project, Yatule Beach Resort was transformed into bungalow-style accommodations, featuring 11 bures, a restaurant, and a bar.
Located alongside the famous Natadola Beach, the resort occupies a prime location. Vodonaivalu mentioned that the partnership between Tour Managers and FNPF involved a lease and operational contract for Yatule Resort, demonstrating a commitment to meet international travel needs while creating job opportunities.
