Plans are underway to enhance municipal facilities and develop Lions Park to a high standard, focusing on beautification and public services. Council special administrator Samuela Ligairi stated that the goal is to turn the park into an activity hub where both residents and visitors can unwind and enjoy their leisure time.
Ligairi emphasized the need for the council to comprehend the facilities that the community desires. He announced plans to install benches in the park to provide resting spots for visitors. The council has initiated several projects this year to better serve the community, including the installation of over 20 sitting benches in strategic locations throughout the town.
“We are committed to providing the best service to our people,” Ligairi noted. He also mentioned that alongside park beautification and municipal upgrades, residents must take responsibility for maintaining these facilities. He highlighted the importance of proper trash disposal to prevent littering.
To combat littering, several closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras have been installed around the town. Ligairi urged corporate entities to join in the council’s clean-up campaigns and to organize their own clean-up efforts at least once every month.
“This will enhance the cleanliness of the township and encourage more visitors,” he said.
