The reconstruction of the Great Council of Chiefs (GCC) Vale ni Bose complex is progressing well. The iTaukei Trust Fund Board has announced that the first phase of the project has been completed, and work on the second phase is now underway.
The Board indicated that practical completion is expected by mid-2025, with all construction activities planned to meet timelines while upholding high standards of quality and safety. The project team is dedicated to executing Phase 2 efficiently and is on track to achieve all milestones as scheduled.
Coordination among contractors, architects, and stakeholders has been smooth, with regular updates and progress assessments to ensure the project remains on schedule. The previous GCC complex, which was destroyed by fire in 2020, has received a $6 million insurance payout for reconstruction efforts.
Phase two is set to improve both the facility’s functionality and design, aligning with its intended purpose. The trust is confident that the timely completion of the project will enhance the offerings of the venue, benefiting not only the Great Council of Chiefs’ meetings but also future users.
Pacific Building Solutions is tasked with leading the construction works.
