Rev. Turagavou Urges Methodist Church to Evolve Beyond Comfort Zones

The President of the Methodist Church of Fiji, Reverend Dr. Semisi Turagavou, has urged the Church to move away from its conservative approach and avoid stagnation. During the opening of the Methodist Church Conference, known as ‘Bose Ko Viti’, he emphasized the need for a transformation in mindsets and attitudes as the Church progresses under the guidance of the Holy Spirit.

Reverend Turagavou warned that if the Church is not willing to evolve, God may choose to work through others to advance His mission. He highlighted that God does not require human consent to elevate His Church and will work with those who are committed to restoring the true essence of Christ within it.

He encouraged both delegates and members to step out of their comfort zones and take active roles in missions. The Church President stressed the importance of being relational, reflecting the Church’s belief in a relational God. He called on the Church to extend its reach and embrace a more welcoming and engaging approach, rooted in the teachings of Jesus.
