Namosi Think Tank member Maciu Nalumisa is advocating for the restructuring of the Namosi Development Company Ltd, the commercial arm of the province, to enhance transparency and strengthen the connection between the company and the people.
During the Namosi provincial meeting held yesterday in Pacific Harbour, Nalumisa, who also serves as the Minister for Housing and Local Government, emphasized the need for reforming the longstanding company. He highlighted the necessity of involving provincial members more actively in the company’s operations, reflecting concerns raised by the province’s residents.
“Respectfully, I recommend we hold a special annual general meeting to discuss the matter further,” Nalumisa stated. “To ensure its smooth running, I believe there should be a major reform of the company. I am also requesting that members of the province be actively aware of the internal matters of the company.”
Tui Namosi Ratu Suliano Matanitobua supported the suggestion, noting that it aligned with his plans drawn during his incarceration. He expressed his gratitude for the establishment of the Namosi Think Tank.
“During the years I spent in Naboro, I laid out a plan pertaining to the province. For years, I have been trying to establish the think tank of the province, and I am very happy that it has eventuated,” Ratu Suliano remarked.
He assured that the company belonged to the people and not just the elites of the province.
