The Nadi Sub-divisional Medical Hospital is experiencing a wave of support from local resorts, bolstering healthcare services for the community. Last month, Radisson Blu Resort Fiji Denarau Island made a significant contribution of $40,000 to renovate the Women’s Medical Ward washroom facilities. Following this goodwill gesture, Club Wyndham Denarau Island further demonstrated its commitment to corporate social responsibility by donating a Vital Signs Monitor worth over $10,000 for the General Outpatients Department (GOPD).

The Vital Signs Monitor is essential for tracking patient health metrics, including temperature, heart rate, blood pressure, oxygen saturation, and respiratory rate. Neomai Matai, Assistant Resort Manager at Club Wyndham, highlighted that their contribution is a modest yet meaningful way to give back to the community, and she expressed her gratitude to the Nadi Hospital Board of Visitors Trust (NHBVT) for the opportunity to support patient care.

NHBVT chairman, Mohammed Israr Khan, voiced his appreciation for the donation, emphasizing its importance in enhancing patient care for around 350 individuals who visit the GOPD each day. He noted the significant impact that the newly acquired monitor will make in the hospital’s operations.

Looking ahead, Khan shared that the board has ambitious plans for larger initiatives in 2025 and intends to seek partnerships with other stakeholders to achieve these goals efficiently. This ongoing collaboration showcases a commendable commitment to improving healthcare infrastructure and services within the Nadi community.

These generous contributions reflect a growing spirit of community support, impacting not just the immediate healthcare needs but also setting the stage for a more robust healthcare system. As local businesses continue to step up, the outlook for improved healthcare in the region remains hopeful, underscoring the power of collective effort and compassion in driving positive change.

In summary, the combined donations from both these resorts exemplify how corporate social responsibility can bridge community needs and enhance healthcare delivery, promising a healthier future for the residents of Nadi.
