The HLB Mann Judd Suva futsal team showcased resilience by overcoming an initial setback in the pool rounds to ultimately secure their championship title. Despite a 2-1 loss to 4R Electrical, Gabby’s Investment, and Rooster Chicken Ba Futsal, the team regrouped and exhibited remarkable determination. They progressed through the semi-finals by defeating Nadi 4-2, followed by an impressive 6-2 victory against Lautoka in the finals, effectively defending their title.
Head coach Vivek Nadan expressed pride in the team’s response to adversity. He emphasized that losing in the pool stage allowed them to learn and come back stronger, stating, “Once we came to the finals we knew it was ours.” As the team prepares for their upcoming season in January after a break in December, they look forward to building on this success.
In the women’s division, Rewa emerged victorious after leading the points table, illustrating the competitive spirit across both categories. Each champion team earned shopping vouchers valued at $1,000 from Extra Supermarket, while the runners-up received vouchers worth $500.
