Rowena Acraman has demonstrated remarkable resilience after the loss of her grandmother earlier this year, maintaining her focus on her personal and professional goals. A former radio journalist, Acraman is one of the nine finalists vying for the title in the Miss Hibiscus Festival 2024, sponsored by Miss APCO Coatings.

Reflecting on her challenging three years of study, Acraman credits her friends for helping her navigate through various obstacles. “Pursuing both journalism and psychology was no easy feat for me personally,” she expressed. She emphasized that overcoming struggles at home proved her resilience, declaring, “Hard work and sleepless nights have truly paid off.”

Participating in the festival has been an extraordinary experience for Acraman, who describes it as magical. Alongside her academic pursuits, she is a passionate artist, singer, and musician, proficient in playing both the guitar and ukulele. Looking ahead, Acraman hopes to work for a non-governmental organization focused on human rights and climate change.

Despite the difficulties of juggling work and studies, she successfully maintained a stable income while earning her degree.
