Resignation Shocker: Fijian Official Pursues New Global Path

Yogesh Karan, the Permanent Secretary for Multi-Ethnic Affairs and the Sugar Industry, has announced his resignation, effective from November 1, 2024. Public Service Commission Chairman Luka Rokovada confirmed the news, stating that Karan intends to advance his career in national and international development with an organization based in Fiji. Karan has dedicated over 20 years of service to the Fijian Government, holding various senior positions. His previous roles include serving as High Commissioner to India, as well as Permanent Secretary for the Office of the Prime Minister and for Foreign Affairs, Immigration, and the Sugar Industry.
