Opposition MP Viliame Naupoto has resigned from his position as the Opposition Whip, effective today.
Notifying the Speaker this morning, Leader of Opposition Inia Seruiratu stated that the resignation was necessary.
When approached by the media outside Parliament, Naupoto commented that it was only fair for him to step down.
In the interim, Jone Usamate will serve as the Opposition Whip until a permanent appointment is made.
