Preliminary details reveal that a group of five individuals set off from Saweni, Lautoka, for a fishing trip to Cuvuli Reef on a 19-foot fiberglass boat powered by a 60-horsepower outboard engine.
The incident is believed to have occurred around 8 p.m., and it was reported to authorities the next morning when one survivor managed to swim to safety without a lifejacket.
