The upgraded facility, inaugurated on Monday, was funded by Radisson Blu Resort, which invested $45,000 into the project.
During the opening ceremony, Mr. Khan emphasized that the washroom renovation signifies more than just an improvement in infrastructure; it embodies a collective commitment to enhancing health and saving lives within the community. He noted that the facility will serve over 20,000 patients in a population of 70,000, highlighting its significance in offering comfort during vulnerable periods.
He expressed gratitude towards the resort for their generous support, mentioning, “You have not just contributed to infrastructure; you have helped save lives and offered comfort to families in their most vulnerable moments.” Mr. Khan described the collaboration as creating a legacy of care and compassion.
Additionally, the Radisson Blu Resort has also provided 21 beds to the hospital as part of its community support initiatives. Resort manager Peter Ehrenbrandtner explained that their efforts are part of a wider Community Outreach Programme which includes initiatives like ‘Adopt a School’. He expressed pride in their contribution to the hospital, stating that this project holds a special place in their hearts.
