The Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani Children’s Hospital has celebrated its third anniversary, achieving remarkable milestones in pediatric cardiac care. Over the past three years, the hospital has performed 363 free heart surgeries, conducted 30,051 screenings, and provided 40,046 medical consultations to children across Fiji and the Pacific.

Dr. Krupali Tappoo, the hospital’s director, emphasized that the primary mission remains to provide lifesaving care without cost to families. The establishment has welcomed nine international medical teams who generously volunteered their expertise and time, with two successful surgeries taking place just this week.

Among the notable achievements, Dr. Tappoo highlighted performing heart surgery on a one-week-old baby, marking the youngest patient treated at the facility. The hospital’s founder, Sri Madhusudan Sai, was praised for embodying the vision of “One World One Family,” striving to ensure that children have opportunities for healthy lives, regardless of their backgrounds or financial situations.

The hospital’s commitment extends beyond immediate surgical services; it emphasizes the importance of awareness and ongoing access to medical care through free screenings and training for local healthcare professionals. As the hospital continues to expand its impact, it aligns with larger initiatives to strengthen healthcare in the region, ensuring that children facing cardiac conditions receive the critical care they need.

The dedication of the Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani Children’s Hospital not only addresses pressing health needs but also fosters a collaborative spirit among medical professionals, reflecting a shared commitment to improving the quality of life for children in the Pacific. This optimistic outlook reaffirms the transformative power of compassionate healthcare as the hospital looks ahead to future challenges and successes, instilling hope for families throughout the region.
