The Victor Clarke Bowling tournament, generously sponsored by BRED Bank, commenced yesterday in the vibrant Sugar City and will wrap up today at the FSC Lautoka Bowling Club. This year’s event is poised to be historic, boasting a remarkable turnout of over 50 bowlers across both men’s and ladies’ divisions, marking the largest participation in the tournament’s history.

Club secretary Kaushik Maharaj expressed his enthusiasm for the growing popularity of the sport: “The response has been phenomenal. To see so many bowlers, both seasoned players and newcomers, eager to compete is a testament to the growing strength of our bowling community.” He also highlighted that while the Victor Clarke tournament has always held special significance, this year it feels particularly larger, more vibrant, and highly competitive.

With the backing of BRED Bank, the tournament aims to showcase top-tier competition while fostering camaraderie, sportsmanship, and celebrating the proud bowling tradition of the city. The outpouring of interest not only reflects the tournament’s appeal but also the unifying spirit of the bowling community, paving the way for an exciting atmosphere filled with competitive fervor and community spirit.
