The 93rd Lautoka Open Pro-AM Golf Championship, sponsored by Shop N Save Supermarket, is set to welcome an unprecedented number of over 100 golfers from Fiji and abroad. This popular event will take place at the Lautoka Golf Club, beginning at 7 am on Saturday.
Lautoka Golf Club captain James Krishna has noted the impressive turnout and expects the competition to be fierce in both professional and amateur categories. He mentioned that favorable weather conditions have resulted in well-maintained fairways and cart tracks, ensuring a great experience for the participants.
In addition to the main event, Shop N Save Supermarket has introduced additional prizes for the 9 holes in both the Gross and Nett Divisions, with a special focus on junior golfers. The event maintains a strong partnership with the Fiji Professional Golf Association, thanks to its president Vikrant Chandra, who has brought in 17 top professional golfers to compete for a cash prize purse of $7,000.
Trustees chairman Raymond Singh announced that there will be over 40 prizes available, alongside sponsor-provided sublimated T-shirts and a traditional lovo lunch for all participants. This marks the eighth consecutive year of sponsorship from Shop N Save Supermarket, with special thanks directed to directors Neeshil Deo and Babu Rattan Deo.
