Record Golf Championship Draws Top Talent to Lautoka

The Shop N Save Supermarket is proudly sponsoring the 93rd Lautoka Open Pro-AM Golf Championship, which has garnered an impressive turnout of over 100 golfers from Fiji and beyond. The 18-hole stroke play tournament will commence at 7 am on Saturday, hosted by the Lautoka Golf Club.

According to LGC captain James Krishna, participants can expect fierce competition in both the professional and amateur categories. “The excellent weather has ensured that the fairways and cart paths are fully groomed, providing optimal playing conditions,” he noted.

The sponsor, Shop N Save Supermarket, will enhance the competition by offering prizes for 9 additional holes in both the Gross and Nett divisions while also ensuring that junior golfers receive ample attention. The Fiji Professional Golf Association (PGA) continues to support the event, with its president, Vikrant Chandra, playing a crucial role in bringing 17 professional golfers to vie for a significant cash prize pool of $7,000.

Raymond Singh, the trustees chairman, announced that over 40 prizes will be awarded, along with sponsor-branded T-shirts and a traditional lovo lunch for all participants. The event marks the eighth consecutive year of support from Shop N Save Supermarket, with special thanks directed to its directors, Neeshil Deo and Babu Rattan Deo.
