Businessman Nahroon Buksh has entered a plea of not guilty to charges of obtaining a financial advantage by deception during his recent court appearance at the Suva Magistrates Court. Presided over by Resident Magistrate Pulekeria Low, the case pertains to allegations that Buksh fraudulently represented himself as a licensed real estate agent and misled a couple into purchasing a property in Kinoya that he did not own.

The prosecution claims that between December 10, 2020, and August 23, 2021, Buksh deceitfully acquired $6,000 from the buyers. During the court session, it was revealed that the prosecution is prepared to call 13 witnesses, while the defense plans to present only Buksh himself. Notably, the defense has indicated that they will not contest partial admissions made in a prior caution interview.

The matter has been adjourned until February 3, 2025, with Buksh remaining out on bail during this period.
