Moses Armstrong-Ravula has rejoined the Sportsworld Fiji Under-20 squad as they prepare for the Oceania Rugby U20 Challenge next week. Expressing his excitement about returning, he stated, “It’s good to come back, I was waiting all year.” After moving to Brisbane, Australia, Ravula has missed the lifestyle and camaraderie he experienced while playing in Fiji.
He highlighted the personal challenges he faced during his move and adjustment to a new environment but expressed eagerness to reconnect with his teammates. “I’ve come in with a lot more confidence this year… trying to nail my role and be the best I can for the team,” he added.
Ravula also spoke warmly of his brother Isaiah, a prominent player in the Fijian Drua, stating that playing together represents a special opportunity for him. This familial connection serves as both inspiration and motivation. The younger Ravula looks forward to playing on home soil for the first time with the national team, where he aims to build upon his experience from competing in the Queensland Premier Cup.
The upcoming Oceania Rugby U20 Challenge, where Fiji will defend their title against teams like Tonga, Canada, and Samoa, comes at a time when the future of Fijian rugby appears bright, with emerging talents like Ravula showing promise. His participation not only adds depth to the team but also signals a hopeful trajectory for the sport’s development in Fiji.
As the Fiji U20 squad prepares to showcase their skills in the tournament, the excitement surrounding their potential success generates positive sentiment among fans and teammates alike, reinforcing the optimism for Fijian rugby’s future on the international stage.
