Kalaveti Ravouvou, the talented Flying Fijians and former Fijian Drua center, has signed a contract extension with the Bristol Bears, ensuring his stay with the club for the foreseeable future. The 26-year-old, who made a move to the Bears from the Fijian Drua in 2023, has quickly made a name for himself, scoring seven tries this season. His impressive performances include standout games where he secured league doubles against Northampton Saints and Leicester Tigers.

In a recent match against Leicester, Ravouvou showcased his exceptional skills by covering 230 meters with the ball, marking the second-highest total ever recorded in a Gallagher Premiership game. He also demonstrated his physicality by beating ten defenders and executing 18 carries during the match.

Expressing his enthusiasm for his time at Bristol, Ravouvou stated, “I’ve really enjoyed my time at Bristol so far and love the culture, environment, and my teammates, so it was an easy decision to stay.” He emphasized that the style of rugby played by the Bears aligns well with his playing style, and he is eager to see what the team can accomplish together in the coming years.

Ravouvou, who has represented Fiji with four caps since making his debut against Ireland in the 2022 Autumn Nations Series, is seen as a key asset for the team. Pat Lam, the director of rugby, praised Ravouvou’s progress since joining the Bears, highlighting his world-class ability and mentioning that he has been recognized for outstanding performances this season.

With his ability to play across the backline, Ravouvou provides much-needed versatility to the Bears, particularly as they navigate a smaller squad. The future looks bright for both Ravouvou and the Bristol Bears, as they work towards achieving greater success in the league.

This commitment not only reinforces Ravouvou’s confidence in the team and the city of Bristol but also signifies the Bears’ intention to build a strong squad capable of competing at the highest level. His success story serves as an inspiration for aspiring rugby players, proving that dedication and talent can lead to significant achievements on international and club stages.
