Kalaveti Ravouvou, a talented centre for the Flying Fijians, has decided to extend his contract with the Bristol Bears, ensuring his continued presence at the club. The 26-year-old, hailing from Nadroga, made the move from Fijian Drua to the Bears in the summer of 2023 and has quickly become one of the standout players in the Gallagher Premiership.

Since joining, Ravouvou has made a significant impact, scoring seven tries, including notable performances against Northampton Saints and Leicester Tigers in 2024. In a recent match against the Tigers, he recorded an impressive 230 metres, marking the second most in a Premiership game, while also defeating 10 defenders during the match.

Ravouvou, who has represented Fiji four times since his debut in the 2022 Autumn Nations Series, is valued by the Bears’ Director of Rugby, Pat Lam. Lam praised Ravouvou’s contributions and highlighted his ability as a versatile back, which is crucial for the team given their current squad size. His outstanding performances have also earned him a spot on the shortlist for the Premiership Player of the Month.

Expressing his enthusiasm about remaining with the Bears, Ravouvou spoke highly of the club’s culture and environment, stating that it was an easy choice for him to stay. He believes that the style of rugby played by the Bears complements his own skills, and he is excited about the team’s potential for the future.

This contract extension not only signals a promising future for Ravouvou at Bristol but also strengthens the Bears as they aim for further success in the league. Ravens’ loyalty demonstrates the potential for a long-term relationship with the club, which can lead to significant achievements in the coming seasons.

As Bristol Bears continue to build their team and ambitions, players like Ravouvou are pivotal in creating a positive culture and competitive edge. With the fervent backing of the fans and solid support within the squad, the future looks bright for both Ravouvou and the Bears.
