Mikaele “High Voltage” Ravalaca is making significant strides in enhancing Fiji boxing’s reputation in Australia. Ravalaca secured his second knockout victory in the 61kg category during the Big Time Boxing Promotion event held at the Melbourne Pavilion on Friday night. He faced Australian-born Victoria state champion Alec Kumar, who was undefeated prior to this match and had a strong background in kickboxing and taekwondo.
Throughout the fight, Ravalaca demonstrated his prowess by knocking Kumar to the canvas twice. The second knockout in the fourth round led Kumar’s corner to throw in the towel, ending the match decisively. Previously, Ravalaca had impressed the Australian audience in June, where he claimed victory against Ziyee Lee by split points decision.
Ravalaca trains under the expert guidance of manager Gus Wahab, alongside Nedal “Skinny” Hussein, with the additional support from Fresh’et. His recent achievements reflect a promising future for Fiji boxing in the international arena.
In summary, Ravalaca’s success not only highlights his individual talent and hard work but also serves as an emblem of hope for Fiji’s boxing community, showcasing the potential for greater recognition and accomplishments in the sport. This momentum could inspire a new generation of boxers in Fiji, promoting the sport further within the region.
