Ratu Paula Vonolagi of House Yellow made a remarkable impression at the HFC Bank Stadium by winning the Suva Grammar School senior boys’ blue-ribbon event with an impressive manual time of 10.78 seconds. This victory not only secured the inter-house blue ribbon title for him but also ignited aspirations for what lies ahead, particularly the Fiji Finals.

As he approaches the end of his high school journey, the Tailevu native is determined to leave a lasting legacy by clinching the prestigious title at the Coca-Cola Games. “This is my last year in Grammar, and I just want to appreciate everything they have done for me,” Vonolagi expressed, reflecting on his experiences and the support from his school.

Looking forward, he anticipates fierce competition, especially from athletes in the Tailevu zone and the Western Division, as he prepares for the highly awaited Coca-Cola Games. Last year, Vonolagi experienced a mix of success and disappointment—he earned a bronze medal in the senior boys’ 100 meters final but later played a crucial role in anchoring his school’s senior boys’ 4×100 team to victory, outpacing rivals such as Marist Brothers High School, Ratu Kadavulevu School, and Queen Victoria School to secure the gold.

In addition to Vonolagi’s achievements, the senior girls’ 100 meters saw a stellar performance from Lisa Cakaubulisova of Blue House, who secured gold with a manual time of 13.60 seconds, adding to the excitement of the event.

With promising athletes like Vonolagi and Cakaubulisova showcasing their talents, the upcoming games will undoubtedly be a thrilling display of skill and determination, making them an event to watch closely.
