Swami Vivekananda College and Ratu Navula College emerged as the standouts at the Coca‑Cola Games Nadi zone meet held yesterday at the International School Nadi grounds, topping the girls’ and boys’ divisions respectively in a day of competitive secondary‑school athletics.

SVC produced a dominant display in the girls’ division, finishing first with 22 gold, 16 silver and 17 bronze medals. Nasesevia Secondary School claimed second place with 12 gold, four silver and five bronze, while Korovuto College completed the girls’ podium in third with six gold, four silver and four bronze medals.

In the boys’ division it was Ratu Navula College who took top honours, accumulating 20 gold, four silver and eight bronze medals. SVC’s boys secured second place with a strong medal haul — 13 gold, 23 silver and nine bronze — signalling the school’s depth across both sexes. Nadi Sangam College rounded out the boys’ top three with five gold, five silver and 10 bronze medals.

The results underline SVC’s overall strength across the Nadi zone, with the college producing the most golds in the girls’ competition and a high silver tally in the boys’ events. Ratu Navula’s boys delivered a convincing performance to take the zone title, while Nasesevia and Korovuto also registered notable podium finishes among the girls.

The Nadi zone meet is one of several regional qualifiers that feed into the national Coca‑Cola Games programme, the country’s premier secondary‑school athletics competition. Performances across sprints, middle‑ and long‑distance races, jumps and throws at zonal meetings are closely watched as schools jostle for places and momentum heading into the national finals.

With yesterday’s results confirmed, the winning schools will regroup and prepare for the next stages of the Coca‑Cola Games season. Coaches and athletes from the Nadi zone will now turn their focus to continuing form and selection as they aim to carry their success forward to the national championships.
