Ratu Kadavulevu School triumphed over Marist Brothers High School in a closely contested Vodafone Super Deans U17 final, winning by a narrow margin of 35-34 at the HFC Bank Stadium this afternoon.
The match was an edge-of-the-seat affair, with both teams exchanging tries in a fiercely competitive atmosphere.
Tevita Rokosuka from RKS was instrumental in the victory, contributing two of the twelve tries scored by both teams. RKS took a slight lead into halftime, holding a 21-17 advantage as the second half unfolded in a similar high-stakes manner.
Lemeki Ratuvukivuki increased RKS’s lead with another try, but Marist responded swiftly with a try from Saverio Tavakai, bringing the score to 28-22 in favor of RKS. Further extending the lead, Sairusi Rokotuva added two more tries for RKS, while Semi Vuakilau’s effort for Marist brought the final tally to a thrilling 35-34, with RKS narrowly clinching the victory.
