Ratu Kadavulevu School Celebrates a Century of Excellence!

Hundreds of alumni from Ratu Kadavulevu School (RKS) assembled at Albert Park to celebrate the institution’s 100th anniversary. Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka, the chief guest, emphasized the school’s significant impact since its founding in 1924. He commended RKS for its long-standing history and for nurturing influential individuals who have aided the nation’s progress. The week-long celebration includes a variety of activities and sporting events.

RKS, named after Ratu Penaia Kadavulevu, a descendant of Ratu Cakobau, boasts a proud heritage that the local community is honoring. The celebrations began with a church service at the Centenary Church in Suva.

The program for today features a “Training and Investment Opportunity” event from 5:30 PM to 11 PM at the Suva Civic Centre, aimed at assisting old scholars facing employment challenges through various ministry sessions.

Tomorrow (Wednesday), a Wellness and Sports Day will take place at Albert Park at 3 PM, highlighting a competition between RKS and Queen Victoria School, both all-boys boarding institutions.

On Thursday, a traditional ceremony will offer current students insights into their cultural heritage, with the Vunivalu na Tui Kaba, Ratu Epenisa Cakobau, serving as the chief guest. Following lunch, there will be a pass-out parade featuring Ro Jone Kalouniwai, the Commander of the Republic of Fiji Military Forces, as the chief guest.

Additionally, Prime Minister Rabuka urged the school community and parents to collaborate with the Government in combating drug abuse, expressing hope that RKS would continue to serve as a source of inspiration for the nation in the future.
