Ratu Kadavulevu School Celebrates 100 Years of Impact and Legacy

Hundreds of alumni from Ratu Kadavulevu School (RKS) came together at Albert Park to celebrate the school’s 100th anniversary. Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka, the chief guest at the event, emphasized the significant role RKS has played since its founding in 1924. He commended the school for its century-long legacy and its contribution to shaping influential leaders who have helped advance the nation. The week-long celebration includes various activities and sporting events.

Named after Ratu Penaia Kadavulevu, a descendant of Ratu Cakobau, RKS has a proud history that is being honored by the community. The festivities kicked off on Sunday with a church service at the Centenary Church in Suva.

The program features an event today titled “Training and Investment Opportunity,” scheduled from 5:30 PM to 11 PM at the Suva Civic Centre. This initiative is aimed at assisting former students facing employment challenges, providing them with resources and mentorship.

Tomorrow, the celebration will continue with Wellness and Sports Day at Albert Park starting at 3 PM, featuring a competition between RKS and neighboring Queen Victoria School.

On Thursday, a special traditional ceremony will be held, allowing current students to learn about cultural heritage, with Vunivalu na Tui Kaba, Ratu Epenisa Cakobau, serving as the chief guest. Following this, a pass-out parade will be held, with the Commander of the Republic of Fiji Military Forces, Ro Jone Kalouniwai, attending as the chief guest.

Prime Minister Rabuka has also called on the school community and parents to collaborate with the Government in combating drug abuse, expressing his hope that RKS will continue to serve as a beacon of hope and positively impact the country in the future.
