Ratu Kadavulevu School Celebrates 100 Years of Excellence

Hundreds of alumni from Ratu Kadavulevu School (RKS) came together at Albert Park yesterday to celebrate the school’s 100th anniversary. Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka, the chief guest, emphasized the significant influence the school has had since its founding in 1924. He commended RKS for its century-long legacy and its contributions to the nation through its alumni.

The weeklong celebration includes a variety of activities and sporting events, honoring the school’s rich history named after Ratu Penaia Kadavulevu, the great-grandson of Ratu Cakobau. The festivities commenced on Sunday with a church service at the Centenary Church in Suva.

Today’s events feature a program titled “Training and Investment Opportunity,” taking place from 5:30 PM to 11 PM at the Suva Civic Centre, designed to assist alumni in job searching through ministry-led empowerment sessions.

Tomorrow, the celebration will continue with a Wellness and Sports Day at Albert Park at 3 PM, highlighted by a sports competition between RKS and nearby Queen Victoria School.

Thursday will commence with a traditional ceremony aimed at educating current students about their cultural heritage, with Vunivalu na Tui Kaba, Ratu Epenisa Cakobau, serving as the chief guest. This will be followed by a school pass-out parade featuring the Republic of Fiji Military Forces Commander, Ro Jone Kalouniwai, as the chief guest.

Additionally, Prime Minister Rabuka has called on the school community and parents to collaborate with the government in combating drug abuse. He expressed his hope that RKS will remain a source of inspiration and continue to make positive contributions to the country in the future.
