The community of Ra raised $117,000 during the Siga Vou Kei Ra Day event held on October 10 at Ra High School. This annual event, established in 2017, has been focused on collecting funds to support a scholarship trust fund for the natives of Ra and the children of mothers from the province.

Ratu Josaia Niudamu, the organizer of the event, announced that since its inception, the initiative has raised over $400,000. “Our goal is to reach $500,000, and upon achieving that, we will implement the Deed of Trust with our scholarship recipients,” he stated.

Mr. Niudamu emphasized the importance of prioritizing education for the people of Ra, both locally and abroad. “With quality education, substantial changes can occur in our community and, most importantly, in our beloved province of Ra, helping us break free from the ongoing cycle of poverty,” he added.
